Stephen Foster
Elementary School Principal

Steve Foster was born and raised in the United States in the state of Iowa and has more than 34 years of experience in the field of education. He received his BS in Elementary Education with an emphasis in math and science instruction from Iowa State University and his MA in School Administration from the University of Northern Iowa. He has a long history of teaching and coaching, especially baseball and basketball. He has been a school administrator for 28 years, working with students PreK through the 8th grade.

In addition to his responsibilities as a school administrator, Mr. Foster has been active at the state level serving as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Iowa Technology and Education Connection (ITEC). He was a member of the Iowa School Counselor Association (ISCA)/School Administrator's of Iowa (SAI) Counselor-Administrator Task Force, and was the only K-12 principal on the steering committee of the Iowa Department of Education's Education Data Warehouse Team. This group is charged with the collection, maintenance, and appropriate distribution of Iowa's collected educational data as required by federal and state law.

He was honored to receive the Iowa Technology Administrator of the Year Award from ITEC. He was also one of three finalists for the Iowa Elementary Principal of the Year Award, sponsored by SAI, and was a finalist for Outstanding Administrator of the Year from ISCA.

In his spare time, Mr. Foster has served on numerous civic committees and boards and has volunteered his time to various community betterment projects. He enjoys reading (especially history), travel, golf, basketball, and exercising. He also enjoys working with his hands and is constantly restoring and maintaining the family's 1870's Victorian home.
